POSITION TITLE: RISK MANAGER
DEPARTMENT: RISK & COMPLIANCE
REPORTS TO (TITLE): ASSISTANT VICE PRESIDENT, RISK (BANKING DIVISION)
Primary objective of the job:
Support PROVEN Bank (Saint Lucia) Limited in managing its risk exposure across all risk types—credit, market, liquidity, operational, compliance, and emerging risks—by implementing robust controls, monitoring effectiveness, and ensuring alignment with regulatory standards and the Bank’s risk appetite.
The Risk Manager will play a key role in enterprise risk management, regulatory compliance, and strategic risk initiatives.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Establish and maintain the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) framework, including risk
appetite and tolerance levels for PBSL and its subsidiaries.
- Oversee risk identification, assessment, monitoring, and mitigation across credit, market, liquidity, operational, compliance, and emerging risks, which will include but not be limited to the following tasks:
- Maintain and monitor the enterprise-wide risk register and key performance indicators
- Meet with internal stakeholders to determine any new/developing risks within the business units
- Conduct annual business risk assessments
- Monitor risk exposure limits in line with the Bank’s risk appetite and regulatory requirements
- Ensure compliance with FSRA guidelines and by extension, CIMA guidelines due to consolidated oversight
- Assist in identifying, quantifying, monitoring, and mitigating market (interest rate, currency and equity price) and credit risk across all asset classes.
- Assess the liquidity and funds under management in relation to internal liquidity risk management policies and procedures, as well as stipulated regulatory standards
- Conduct research on economic, regulatory and industry specific risks within the domestic and international business environment and reporting such findings to management
- Assess the financial risk embedded in new products or initiatives being developed by the company
- Assess counterparty exposure and enhance existing framework to analyse the financial viability and credit worthiness of counterparties
- Perform quarterly stress testing and scenario analysis for liquidity, market and credit risk In accordance with Basel III – Stress Testing Principles
- Prepare and support the annual consolidated Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment Process (ICAAP) and other regulatory submissions (where necessary).
- Develop and maintain procedures and practices for the enterprise-wide risk management activities of PBSL
- Oversee the process of designing/adapting and monitoring the risk management policies, standards, and techniques of the organisation
- Oversee the business continuity framework and collaborate with the IT team to ensure that annual testing of the framework is executed
- Evaluate the efficiency of all internal controls surrounding the risk function and recommend improvement of those controls as it necessary.
- Draft, modify and implement company policies throughout the Banking Group
‘Keep abreast of regulatory developments within or outside of the organisation as well as evolving best practices in risk control
- Provide risk reports to senior management for Board Committees as per the established reporting schedule
- Monitor emerging risk such as ESG, climate and digital transformation risks
- Assist with the internal audit framework by acting as liaison and following up on outstanding Internal Audit issues.
- Conduct annual ERM training sessions for staff and promote a strong risk culture
- Provide bi-weekly (every 2 weeks) updates to Direct Report on the risk management strategic
initiatives
*May perform other duties as assigned and required as part of the risk management framework.

- Bachelor’s degree in finance, banking, accounting, economics, business administration, or similar fields
- Professional certifications will be an advantage – Financial Risk Manager/Certified Risk Manager
- A minimum of 5-7 years of relevant professional experience in Banking, Risk Management, or comparable professional practice
- A minimum of 3-5 years managerial oversight of risk management framework
- A strong knowledge of Basel frameworks, capital market operations and instruments and financial legal and regulatory framework
- Proficiency in risk modelling tools and data analytics platforms
- Ability to navigate the Bloomberg platform is an advantage
