Heineken Saint Lucia Ltd

In 1975, the HEINEKEN family established its first Brewery in the Caribbean, in the tropical island of Saint Lucia. The quality of the water and the concessions available under St. Lucia’s Incentive Legislation, were some of the factors that led to the decision to establish Heineken Saint Lucia Limited formerly known as Windward and Leeward Brewery Limited (WLBL) in the Industrial Estate at Vieux Fort.

In 2016 vision and foresight, WLBL merged with Du Boulay’s Bottling Company Ltd. (DBC) to create the largest total beverage manufacturer in St. Lucia and the Eastern Caribbean. The combined company produces and distributes high-quality alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages which includes Heineken Beer, Piton Beer, Shandy and Malt, Guinness, Desperados, Strongbow Cider, Coca Cola, Sprite, ICY, Crystal Clear Premium Water, Royal Club (soft drink), Climax (energy drink), SuperMalt, Amstel Bright, Red Stripe, Stassen Cider, Minute Maid Juices and many more.

The Brewery’s capacity at startup was 50,000 hectoliters with a workforce of 60 employees. Today, with the merger the workforce has grown to over 235 employees and has the capacity to produce 500,000 hectoliters. WLBL brands are known for their exceptional quality. In taste, Heineken beer scored highest in the Region and Guinness St. Lucia has the highest taste scores in the world.
