REPORTS TO (TITLE): ASSISTANT VICE PRESIDENT – BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
Primary objective of the job:
The Assistant Manager supports the Assistant Vice President – Business Development by overseeing the administrative, operational, and compliance functions within the department. This role ensures the smooth execution of client onboarding, reporting, documentation, and internal coordination, to support client acquisition, sales generation and strategic growth initiatives employed by the Sales Officer in the Unit
Principal Responsibilities:
Operational Support & Administration Oversee day-to-day administrative functions within the Business Development department.
Coordinate with internal departments (Compliance, Operations, Finance) to facilitate seamless client onboarding and service delivery.
Prepare and review business development reports, performance dashboards, and forecasting tools.
Assist in the preparation of proposals, presentations, and business cases for internal and external stakeholders.
Lead on necessary activities regarding internal and external audits Approve low and medium risk accounts in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Compliance & Risk Management Ensure all client files and onboarding processes comply with KYC/AML regulations and internal policies.
Liaise with Compliance and Risk teams to resolve documentation or onboarding issues.
Monitor regulatory updates and ensure operational processes are aligned with
current standards.
Reporting & Performance Tracking Generate periodic departmental reports to track performance, client onboarding metrics, and operational efficiency.
Assist in the preparation of board-level reports and presentations, providing data and insights to support strategic decision-making.
Maintain dashboards and reporting tools to support performance monitoring and forecasting.
Leadership & Team Management Support Conduct check ins to provide feedback, coaching and support performance reviews.
Identify training needs and recommend learning opportunities to upskill the team.
Support succession planning by identifying and nurturing high potential team members for future roles. etc.
Assist the Assistant Vice President – Business Development in leading and managing the department in line with strategic objectives.
Support the development of a high-performance team culture by promoting collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members on operational procedures and best practices.
Drive a culture of change to continue improving efficiencies within the department.
Help communicate departmental goals, KPIs, and strategic initiatives to the team.
Contribute to team-building efforts and foster strong interdepartmental relationships.
Process Improvement & Efficiency Identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency within the department.
Support the development and documentation of workflows and operational guidelines.
Assist in change management initiatives related to systems, procedures, and departmental operations
Team Coordination & Support Provide guidance and support to junior team members on operational procedures and best practices.
Foster a collaborative environment within the department to ensure high levels of service delivery and interdepartmental coordination.
Performance Standards Timely and accurate completion of administrative and operational tasks.
High level of compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
Effective coordination with internal departments to support client service delivery.
Accurate and timely reporting to support performance tracking and strategic planning.
Minimum Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Banking, Finance or International Finance, Business from an accredited university.
At least 3–5 years of experience in banking operations, client onboarding, a
Excellent Communication and leadership skills.
Strong understanding of international banking regulations and compliance standards.
Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
