AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY: The incumbent will support the Engineering department in ensuring that all machines are continuously restored to basic conditions and is responsible for the building, installing and maintenance of all automated machinery and equipment on the Plant.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Identify failure modes and undertake repairs (first time right) on all machines, equipment and installations in the safest possible way.

Support the Maintenance Planner in the execution of maintenance plans, maintenance of asset master data, tracking of asset performance and cost analysis.

Installation, repair and maintenance of all Company equipment and assets.

Perform troubleshooting of machine failures and initiate actions to immediately resolve minor machine stops.

Conduct all machine maintenance as appropriate – that is during changeovers, startups and shutdowns.

Liaise directly with suppliers to troubleshoot and resolve machine issues and where applicable acquire material quotes and place orders with spare parts department.

Coordinate and assist equipment manufacturers and suppliers with on-site installations of all Company equipment.

Prepare technical documentation and instruction materials to be used by operators and other team members.

Provide training and technical support whenever necessary to line operators to assist them with resolving of basic maintenance issues.

Generate work requisitions where applicable for work order planning and processing.

On time and in full execution of all assigned maintenance work orders.

Ensure all aspects of 5S and TPM methodologies are fully embedded in day-to-day Engineering activities.

QUALIFICATIONS

Diploma/Associate Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or Industrial Manufacturing Technology

At least 2 years’ experience in manufacturing industry with related experience.

Computer Literacy (AutoCad, Microsoft Office Suite)

Valid driver’s license would be an asset.

KEY COMPETENCIES

Functional knowledge of general plant and equipment management

Knowledge of TPM, Six Sigma or any other lean manufacturing methodology

Team Oriented
